Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent backup drive
No faults with this nice USB drive. The resident software loaded quickly and flawlessly. Easy to use with the scheduled backups.

Once installed it's one of those rare devices you can essentially forget about. The only down is the provided USB cable should be a bit longer.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Unreliable
I have given up using the Toshiba external drive. It is unbelievably slow, due to its USB connection. If you want to store large files or lots of data, the USB connection is a real disadvantage. More importantly, the drive's erratic behavior has resulted in my losing valuable files and has caused me hours of needless work. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great portable drive
I've had this since earlier this year and used it extensively to transfer homemade video and photo files among my PCs, as well as to back up one of my laptops. It's also whisper-quiet and doesn't get hot like some external drives. It's powered purely by USB 2.0; no AC adapter power possible. I've used it on over a dozen laptops, including old Win2k machines, and have never ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I am impressed
This external harddrive right out of the box has worked very well. I have no complaints, and easily recommend it.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - great if it worked
Well afer my WD external NAS drive crashed, i wasnt going to touch that brand again. Toshiba offered a 3 year warrenty on this. That sounded to me like they were convinced it worked. And it was great...for a few months. Then i started randomly "dropping" I thought it was my computer at first because it was having problems, tried it in another and no luck. So i sent it in. After having it in repair for so long that I almost forgot i had it, they sent it back, without its usb cable. hmmm ok, not a huge deal, ... Read More
