Samsung LN40A550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV
- Overall good stuffThe tv is is at great price, but when it arrived, the tv was completely broken. The screen was busted out, the base was shattered, it looked like they stood an elephant on the box before delivering it. Obviously, it was aggravating, but the phone call to replace it took about 5 minutes and was painless. The only problem was they don't have expedited shipping on tv's so I had to wait another week. Then replacement arrived on time and seems to work great. The tv is lovely, just wish it would've arrived like that the first time.

- Good TV, bad ServiceThe TV is fine. Not as great as some of the reviewers here say, but the picture is decent. But be careful when buying from Amazon. I bought the TV on December 12. A day later the price dropped by a $100. I wasn't worried, because Amazon used to refund the difference if they discounted an item a few days after you bought it. But when I asked for such a refund, I found out they secretly canceled that policy sometime in September, and wouldn't budge. I used to just go to Amazon whenever I need something, and if the price seemed right, buy it. Now I will think twice and wait some time before making a purchase. It used to a be a more pleasant experience. Oh well.

- Heaven help you if you need to get this TV servicedBased on many positive reviews, I bought the LN40A550 from Amazon. It took 9 days for delivery from CEVA in Cleveland. With an HD source (cable or blu-ray), the picture is stunning, however, SD cable channels exhibit faint, but noticable diagonal lines that roll across the screen. Window-shade distortion is what the cable tech called it. This TV definitely has issues with its SD tuner. If I use the tuner in my VCR, the distortion goes away. Samsung service is horrible. I have been trying to get Samsung to fix this for over 2 months and have yet to have a Samsung tech come to my home. Samsung outsources their service to a variety of local techs, and I am on my third one. Just trying to get them to show up is turning in to quite a challenge. I wish I would have bought the Sony KDL-40V4100. I also own a Sony KDL-52W4100 and love it; the Bravia engine does a great job with SD.

- 40"Lcd Hd Samsung Television My husband has this in the bedroom. It is wonderful. The picture is perfect. It was so easy to install also. I would recomend it to anyone. I recieved the television in less than a week.
