Pantone MEU116 ColorMunki Create Monitor Calibration Device and Software to Create, Manage, Search, Verify and Share Color Palettes (White)
Rating: - ColorMunki does its job.I used this to calibrate my HP monitor and have now upgraded to ColorMunki Photo which calibrates my Epson printer to the monitor resulting in great prints. Rating: - CAREFUL! Color Palette software is the main point!EDIT: I wanted to update that Colormunki has addressed some of issues people were not happy with The good news is there is no limit on installs anymore, you can install the software on as many computers as you wish as long as you keep the original USB colormunki colormunki works with windows 7 very well. some full screen applications override though with their own gamma like certain video games Colormunki is great for PC and Laptops and can calibrate multi monitor setups easily. I have been very pleased with the product over the past year ______ When I first saw this product I thought it was a colorimeter with neat palette software. I was wrong, in reverse it is software with a calibration tool. A monitor MUST ALWAYS have the software running. the software creates a 'profile' on your operating system start up, it does not actually help you configure your monitor settings. So if you thought you were going to go around your house and office using a tool to calibrate all the monitors, think again. A second issue, the software only licenses you for three installs. Since you cannot calbrate monitors without the software installed that leaves you SOL now doesn't it? If you have only one work station is this a good product? Yes, it seems to be solid. Calibration was spot on, lots of features and a great price. Works with adobe, I would recommend this. Be aware that Colormunki DESIGN is also able to calibrate your PRINTER but that bundles costs about 300$ over the cost of Colormunki CREATE. The reason is DESIGN has a spectrophotometer, where it can read colors from any object, such as paper, cloth, plants?! and CREATE can only do video screens. Rating: - Easy to use, but there's potential software conflictsInstallation was simple and straight forward. I got my first computer in 1987, so I've had a good bit of experience with computers. The instructions are well written, and the design is first-rate -- excellent for the price. I did not give it five stars because although I had no problem using, I developed some software problems with other programs after installing it. Software conflicts are best handled by experts, so the user may have to seek help. Rating: - Easy to use and accurateI saw a demo on this product while attending Macworld. The packaging and the monkey logo are a little goofy so I was leery before the demo. Happy to say that I just got it from Amazon recently and it is working great. It has a color correction (calibration) tool that calibrates monitors. I followed the really basic instructions and it took a few minutes. If you have never calibrated your monitor, you should do so. It made a big difference for me. What I like best are all of the software features. It has a digital version of the Pantone color library - very cool. I also found the Print Safe feature to be helpful. This tells you how close you can get to specific colors based on your printer. I also liked the fact the the software showed me what an image on my monitor would look like on my 4 color (CMYK) printer. In short, the device is inexpensive, accurate and has lots of great software features. |
